Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership Program
A big shoutout to @wbylmentalking! As a part of the Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership program, our student Jerry Ng is fundraising for mental health for men.
“Did you know? Every $25 raised gets a young person through one of the batyr@school programs. Our goal is to raise $500 to put 25 young people through a program that smashes the stigma and encourages a young person to reach out for help.
We are leaders from the Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership Program, a program where a group of selected 14-16 year old students in the Inner-West area are given the support to dedicate their free time to raise awareness, fundraise, and help create changes for certain social issues in the community, being the Social Impact Program. We have chosen to focus our project on mental health, focusing on Young Male Mental Health. We would love to give awareness and spread the word of your company to schools.
We’re taking on batyr’s Run for the Herd Virtual Festival and running for a cause that’s close to our hearts! batyr is a for purpose, preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. Of every 30 students in Australia, seven will be dealing with a mental health issue, yet only two will reach out for support, leaving five suffering in silence. Sadly, most young people dealing with mental health issues do not reach out for help, largely due to stigma. If you are able to support, your donation will go a long way and help batyr reach more young Australians through their engaging programs, that smash the stigma surrounding mental ill-health and empower young people to reach out for support.”
