Welcome to Mount Alexander 7-12 College. I was appointed Principal at Mount Alexander 7-12 College in 2019. I was excited to join the MAC Community and work with a vibrant team of educators who believe in student-centred learning and empowerment.

I have worked in education for over 30 years across all facets of school operations, administration and instructional leadership. Prior to coming to Mount Alexander 7-12 College, I was the Assistant Principal at Maribyrnong College for eight years and Acting Principal at Buckley Park College.

In my time at Mount Alexander 7-12 College, I have been continually reassured in the College’s ethos of providing student empowered learning. All teachers, education support staff and learning support staff at MAC, go above and beyond to work with the students to make the College a place that has become the community’s first school of choice.

Since joining Mount Alexander 7-12 College, I have led the College and support staff, students and families during the two years of rolling lockdowns with COVID19.

During this time, the College was successful in receiving the funds to upgrade and increase the space for our growing school. These upgrades began in late 2021 and are projected to finish in mid-December 2022. You can read more about the building works here.

At Mount Alexander 7-12 College, I am supported by a strong leadership team that includes Meg Rawlins Assistant Principal. Meg has a wealth of experience in education and of the Mount Alexander 7-12 College community. Since 2020, Meg and I have worked very closely to minimise the impact of COVID19 and capital upgrades on the school community.

I have been part of the Mount Alexander 7-12 College Leadership Team since 2010 and have worked in education for 22 years.

One thing I love about working at Mount Alexander 7-12 College is seeing students and staff thrive in the environment. The culture at the College is one of collaboration and empowerment.

Over the last eight years, I have seen the College go through large transformations and have worked very closely to enact these changes with Principal Dani Angelico and MAC’s previous Principal, Wayne Haworth.

Some of the various leadership positions I held throughout the transformation of the College include Teaching and Learning, Curriculum, Senior School, Student Engagement and Wellbeing and Community Engagement.

In 2018, I was awarded my Masters in Instructional Leadership from the University of Melbourne. In 2019, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Principal Preparation (Victoria) from Monash University.

I am passionate about building teaching and leadership expertise by providing professional learning opportunities for educators at Mount Alexander 7-12 College and beyond.

I lead the Teaching and Learning Program at MAC including the curriculum. In addition, I manage the College’s daily operations and timetabling, support Dani Angelico and guide the Leadership Team.

My journey as an educational leader has been influenced by many significant relationships I have developed with students, which pushes me to want to make a difference.
