The promotion of wellbeing occurs in safe relationships where our strengths are celebrated, our potential is encouraged and our voices are heard. Then, and only then, can our brains be open to expanding our cognitive capacities for learning and thriving throughout our lives. - salutegenetics.com.au

Student Wellbeing

“Positive wellbeing leads to positive academic outcomes”

Student wellbeing encompasses engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment, sleep, nutrition, living optimistically, physical activity, and position emotion.

At MAC, we consider student wellbeing to be an essential part of every student’s learning.

We have a dedicated student wellbeing and engagement team to ensure students feel safe, engaged and connected at school.

The team is lead by Kate Stevanovic Leading Teacher Student Engagement.

Expectations Matrix

SchoolTV

Today parents face a multitude of modern day challenges in raising happy, well and resilient young people. Whilst there is a great deal of information available, this can often be confusing and overwhelming for parents looking for guidance. SchoolTV addresses this as a new online resource designed to empower you as parents with credible and sound information with realistic, practical ongoing support strategies.

Mentoring

The weekly Mentoring program aims to promote resilience and develop social and emotional competencies. The Mentoring program is guided by evidence-based principles of positive psychology, Respectful Relationships and aligns with the Victoria Curriculum for personal and social capabilities.

The Mentoring lessons are developed to meet the individual needs of our students, encouraging strength-based learning and identity formation. The program also consists of practical life skills covering areas of career and pathway planning and school connectedness. Student voice is celebrated through Whole School and House Assemblies.

Students are assigned to a Mentoring class when they enrol and their Mentoring teacher is the student’s and the family’s first point of contact for any concerns.

Students who require more individual support and counselling for their mental health and other concerns can access the Wellbeing team in the Wellbeing Hub.
