Dear school community,
School Council hopes term 3 is going well for everyone. Here’s a summary of your School Council August meeting.
🚀 School Strategic Plan 2027-2031 – coming soon
Based on June’s school review, the resulting School Strategic Plan 2027-2031 is still under development and expected to be approved at our September meeting.
🎭 School Production – Shrek the Musical!!!
We were excited to acknowledge the success of the latest school production, Shrek! A total of 78 students participated, including 57 performers on stage. The production featured many solo performances and saw increased participation from boys, junior school students and a more diverse student cohort compared with last year. This student-led initiative epitomises what MAC stands for: creativity, inclusion, leadership and student voice. We thank students, and staff Ruwandhi Fernando, Samuel Kirby, Andreas Stephanou, Chris Urban, Dani Angelico, the Arts and Technology teams, and the MAC PFA for their invaluable support in bringing this outstanding production to life.

🫶 First Nations engagement – Marrung Champion report
We’re pleased MAC continues to strengthen First Nations engagement through student voice. A key recent highlight is student participation in the Kimberley Cultural Pathway Program, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to build cultural connection, leadership and confidence through shared learning experiences. A student representative from MAC has been attending the almost 3 week program in the spectacular Kimberley region of Western Australia. The learning is expected to help inform future student-led cultural awareness opportunities at MAC in partnership with the Marrung Champion team.
🧹School Grounds Working Bee – please join in 12th September
The MAC Parents & Friends Association is organising a school working bee on the morning of Saturday 12th September. We encourage families, students and staff to join in and help improve our school grounds while connecting with the broader school community. School Council thanks the PFA for their ongoing commitment, leadership and hard work in supporting initiatives that enhance our school environment.
🌞 Solar PV project – savings to date!
By the end of July, the school’s solar project has delivered more than $19,700 (ex-gst) in electricity bill savings compared with the same time last year.
